NOTEL is a rural guesthouse in Hitoyama, Shodoshima.
The building has been renovated from an older facility; the walls are thin and sound carries easily.
To ensure a comfortable and peaceful stay for all guests, we ask that you follow a few guidelines.
We appreciate your understanding and look forward to your reservation.

Check-in / Check-out: Check-in: 14:30 onwards
Check-out: by 10:00

You may come and go freely after check-in. We turn off the lights in the living and dining area at 22:00, so please return by then.
Payment: Payment is by advance payment on this site only.
Meals: We do not provide meals. We recommend using the shared kitchen for self-catering.
Cooking in the guest rooms is not permitted.
Laundry: A washer-dryer for guests is available on the 1F. (14:00–18:00 / fee required)
Detergent is provided.
Perfume and Fabric Softener: We're a lodging close to nature. To better enjoy the scents of soil and greenery, we kindly ask that you use perfume and fabric softener sparingly.
Smoking: The entire facility is non-smoking. E-cigarettes and similar products are also not permitted. Please smoke only at the designated outdoor smoking area.

Cancellation Policy: If you must cancel after your reservation is confirmed, the following cancellation fees apply.

11–15 days before: 30% of accommodation fee

6–10 days before: 50% of accommodation fee

2–5 days before: 80% of accommodation fee

Day before or day of, or no-show: 100% of accommodation fee
Staying with Children: For children under school age, we charge ¥3,000 per additional futon set. (Please contact us in advance.)

Children in elementary school: ¥5,000 per night. Junior high school age and above: same rate as adults.

For accompanying guardians, we ask that you understand and agree to the following before making a reservation.

Our building is a renovated former elementary school over 50 years old. The walls are thin and sound carries easily. Please refrain from running or playing in shared areas and hallways.

There are breakable items and fragile plaster and earthen walls in the building. Please handle with care.

We do not have a bathtub. Showers only. A hot spring facility is about 10 minutes away by car. Please use it if needed.
Pets: Pets are not permitted.
Guests Under 20: We generally do not accept reservations for minors only. Please stay with a guardian or chaperone.
Visiting NOTEL: Please contact us in advance if you would like to visit the facility.
Other: The facility has stairs and significant steps. It is not barrier-free, and there is no elevator.

We are located in a quiet village. Neighbors retire early. Please keep outdoor conversations to a minimum at night.

We are surrounded by rice fields and mountains. From May to November, wildlife is active and insects may appear indoors. Please gently release them outside or use the room spray we provide.
